Doctor

  • Dr. Troy A Young , DVM


    Dr. Young is a 1996 magna cum laude graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has lived in northern California for most of the last 13 years. He completed a medical and surgical internship with the Sacramento Animal Medical Group in 1997, and then joined SAMG to continue teaching new graduate veterinarians. He bought Marysville Veterinary Hospital in January 2003 from Dr. Ron Ringen. Dr. Young's professional interests include anesthesiology (pain management), critical care, ophthalmology, and being the best advocate possible for the very important pets that are entrusted to his care. He is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and past-president of the NVVMA (veterinary medical organizations). In his off-time (ha!) he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, downhill skiing, scuba diving, surfing, astronomy, and photography.

  • Dr. David Black , DVM


    I graduated from Colorado State University in 1975.  I practiced small and large animal medicine untill 1988.  I then moved to this area and practiced small animal medicine only.  I currently have 2 cats and my outside interests are church, music, and literature.  I have been married for 25 years and have 2 children that recently graduated from college. Management

  • Holly Miller


    I have been in the veterinary field since 1994. After graduating from high school in Lincoln, I went to Western Career College. I received a diploma for completing their Veterinary Office Management course. I started working at Elk Grove Vet in Elk Grove and then I managed Elk Grove and a hospital in West Sacramento.
    I have alot of pets--6 goats, 8 cats, 5 dogs, 3 birds and a fish tank. Out of all my pets I have handraised and then kept 3 cats and 2 dogs. I also have a son born in 1996 and a stepson born in 1998. If I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family (2 legged and 4 legged) and riding my ATV.


Technician

  • April Davis , RVT


      I have been with MVH since 1999.  I graduated form the Yuba College Tech Progam in 2000.  I obtained my B.S. degree in Zoology from UC Davis in 1996.                                                                                          


  • Stephen Needles


    After graduating from East Nicolaus High School in 1988, I joined the Navy and served until 1999. After I departed from the military I stayed in Texas until 2003. When I returned to Northern California I attended the Veterinary Technician program at Western Career College. I joined the staff at MVH in 2004 and enjoy working in the lab. Though currently not the owner of any pets (aside from a small herd of cutarebra), I have had a number of pets in the past ranging from dogs,cats, snakes and ferrets. Outside of work I enjoy fishing and I am an avid video game player.

Reception

       I have been with MVH since November 1997. I am the reception supervisor and know most of our clients by first name. When I am not at work I like to ride my horse and play with Milo and Buck.

    Christina has been with MVH since March and brings with her a vast knowledge and experience in the veterinary field. She is sweet and has a smile everyday. We are lucky to have her on our team.

    I have worked for MVH since Sept. of 2006.  I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, several cows and calves.  I went to Lindhurst High School and I am now attending Yuba College.  The goals I would like to achieve are to work, treat and care for animals in order to keep them in good health.
